How It Began…
In September 2024, Charlotte was diagnosed with brain cancer. When she was first admitted to McMaster Children’s Hospital, Charlotte felt overwhelmed and scared as her world - and her body - began to change.
Throughout her cancer journey, Charlotte has experienced countless acts of kindness from others. These gestures meant more to her then words can express, and they inspired her to do something meaningful - pay that kindness forward to other children facing cancer.
Charlotte is now 11 and sells tote bags printed with her design of her own fingerprint flowers and an inspirational quote that means a lot to her - “Grow through what you go through”. Proceeds go towards creating gift bags filled with toys and activities with the goal of reaching every pediatric cancer patient in Ontario, Canada.
To date, Charlotte has donated to McMaster Children’s Hospital (Hamilton), Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (Ottawa), Kingston Health Sciences and Children’s Hospital (London). That is 216 gift bags that are meant to bring comfort, distraction, and a reminder that these cancer warriors are not alone.
We are very appreciative of all of the support we have received in our community, as well as the communities we have visited for donation. Thank you for buying a bag, art print or making a donation to keep Charlotte’s kindness project going.
